Santicler was founded in 2018 by Monica Magdas Miller to create timeless, high quality elevated basics that challenge the traditional manufacturing processes. Before founding Santicler, Miller developed and managed both domestically- and internationally- licensed celebrity brands at Hollywood’s CAA, after spending nine years at BCBGMAXAZRIA. At BCBGMAXAZRIA, Miller oversaw the sportswear and dresses divisions as a Senior Design Director.  These experiences opened Miller’s eyes to the negative impact of the mainstream fashion industry on society and the environment – particularly the waste that was perpetuated by the traditional manufacturing and consumption cycles.   She knew something had to change.

Miller’s mission to do things differently took her to Romania, where she was born.  Here, she partnered with a small family-owned factory, where each piece is crafted-to-order using non-toxic materials.  This demand-driven approach reduces the waste created by the tradition large-scale production model, which most often results in volumes of unsold stock.  In addition, Miller has invested in innovative machinery that minimizes the carbon footprint of each piece when compared to traditional knitwear machinery.

"My focus on useful products made for efficient consumption is present in everything that I do." - Monica Magdas Miller, Founder

All viscose used by Santicler is sourced from the Linea Piu Mill, which is dedicated to researching and establishing standards for human health protection across their mills and their own supply chain.  Their viscose is made entirely of traceable and renewable raw materials and is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).  Lastly, Miller has sourced nylon microfiber jersey to use for the bottom portion of her Santicler bodysuits.  This nylon comes from Italy’s leading performance fabrics mill and is certified by the SensitivEcoSystem Program, which ensures that no toxic finishes or harsh dyes are used and that its environmental impact is kept at a minimum.
