Tejen was founded as a conscious luxury fine jewelry line by longtime friends and designers Mark Kroeker and Isabella Encinas. The brand is built on their shared passion for traveling, exploring different cultures and supporting master craftsmen around the world. The culture, food, art, history and craft of the world has been a never ending source of inspiration for them; from the Hill tribes in Myanmar, to the ancient ruins of the Apache Sacred lands in New Mexico, from gliding along the Mekong in Laos to surfing the French coastlines. Their experiences and encounters while traveling progressively changed the way they thought about the environment and the fashion industry at large.
Tejen believes that it is the duty of luxury brands to preserve the beauty and rarity of our planet, foster cultural preservation and support socio-economic development. Therefore, they strive to use the highest quality, ethical and sustainable materials while employing responsible production and distribution practices under humane conditions.
Each Tejen piece can be fully traced from mine to workshop. At the brand’s start, the collection was handcrafted by master artisans in France’s Lorraine region using Fairmined-certified gold. As the brand expanded, Mark and Isabella influenced the certification of the first Fairmined factory in India, where newer collections are created. Tejen celebrates master craftsmanship and promotes living beautifully and believes that passion creates worth.
“We strive to design pieces that will be handed down from generation to generation, creating a never-ending life cycle.” - Tejen Co-Founders Isabel Encinias and Mark Kroeker
