Story

Our Collectiva Concepcion Concha Dress features an A-line silhouette with a darted bodice and waist, side zipper closure, puffed 3/4 length sleeves, and a round neckline with a center front slit. This piece is beautifully embellished with a two local techniques: Gaviado, a decorative herringbone hand-stitch and Deshilado, a process of removing weft threads to create a base for intricate lace-like embroidery.

Handcrafted by artisans in San Felipe de los Herreros in Michoacan, Mexico.

Please note all of our fabrics are handmade with artisanal techniques so they may have color variation or hyperpigmentation. This gives uniqueness and personality to every piece.

Preserving Traditions

Collectiva employs 230 artisans in the Mexican states of Chiapas, State of Mexico, and Michoacán. These artisans, mostly women, earn above 170% the minimum wage and are given the flexibility to work from home as they care for their families.
