Our Okapi Mawu in Red Ostrich Shin features a classic tote silhouette with flat handles, one inside zipper pocket, and two open interior pockets. It's finished with hand-stitched details and a springbok horn that dangles on the front. Named in honor of Mawu, 'The Goddess of Creativity' in African mythology, this piece is handcrafted by artisans in South Africa.
The ostrich and blesbok skins used for this piece was sourced from by-products of the long-standing practice of free-range farming in South Africa; these leathers are cut from materials that would otherwise be thrown away.
