A Peace Treaty
A Peace Treaty was founded in 2008 on the belief that things made by human hands, imbued with the story of their maker, are the most beautiful and luxurious in the world. A Peace Treaty founders Farah Malik (a Muslim from Pakistan) and Dana Arbib (a Jewish woman from Libya) use their luxury label not only to create fair-wage jobs for skilled artisans, but also to preserve ancient traditions at risk of becoming extinct. The company sees itself as a champion for slow fashion, a preservationist of centuries-old techniques and the trademark of the luxe adventuress, venturing to fascinating countries seeking out the most beautiful handmade techniques and their makers. So far, A Peace Treaty has worked with artisan groups across the ten countries, including: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Ecuador, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Peru, Turkey and the USA.
